The Church of Epiphany-Tempe is dedicated to providing an environment that allows every child to know that they are special to God and valued in the Body of Christ. We offer a variety of programs to fit your family’s needs.
Parents of the littlest ones can enjoy the complimentary child care services provided by our nursery staff.
CHILDREN’S CHAPEL (Ages 3 – 3rd Grade), 10:00am in the Children’s Chapel Room:
While parents are attending the first portion of church service, their little ones will enjoy storytelling, wondering, crafts and play time, drawing from the Godly Play method, a hands-on, Montessori style, learning and playing and sensory experience. Children will rejoin their families in the sanctuary during the offering of Peace.
Godly Play is a creative, imaginative approach to Christian formation and spiritual guidance through wondering and play. With over 40+ years of research and practice, Godly Play values process, openness, discovery, community and relationships. Godly Play models the worship life, stories, symbols and rituals of Christian congregations, allowing the teacher to make relevant and personal theological meaning.
Please have your children in their classrooms prior to the start of the 10:00 a.m. service, as lessons will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. They will return to you in the main church at the time of the Peace, to share in the Eucharist.
TWEEN CHURCH (4th, 5th and 6th graders), 10:00am in the youth room of the Farmhouse:
Connect, by Spark House, takes tweens on a journey through the Old Testament and into the New Testament, exploring the connections between several stories each week. Every Connect lesson follows a three-part sequence: See, Explore, and Make. Each week, tweens focus on and reinforce a theme by watching a witty video, exploring biblical text, and creating projects that range from games to art and more. Connect grows with preteens, helping them make sense of the Bible, and encouraging them to ask questions, make connections, and reflect. Connect explores the themes found throughout the Bible’s greatest stories and encourages preteens to see the narrative arc of the Bible—from Creation to New Creation. Resources used in the Connect curriculum are developed just for tweens—blending solid theology with quirky humor.
