The Church of the Epiphany-Tempe and our Fellowship Committee cater to and sponsor numerous events and activities throughout the week, month, and year, all designed to showcase the personal touch our parish is so proud of. Events include highlighting worldwide Anglicanism and Christianity, the national Episcopal Church, our parish as a whole and our committees, groups and the individual member, as well as welcoming newcomers.
Using Our Campus
The Church of the Epiphany-Tempe facilities are available for use by approved organizations and individuals. Our campus hosts concerts, weddings, and other memorable events. The acoustics in the sanctuary are considered among the finest in the East Valley. Please contact the church office for more information.
The Fellowship Committee sponsors coffee hour following the 8:00am, 10:00am and noon services each Sunday. The first Sunday of each month is Anniversary Sunday, and Birthday Sunday is the fourth Sunday of each month. Parishioners with anniversaries or birthdays that month can celebrate with the Church. The second and third Sundays of each month are hosted on a rotating basis, by last name. Check the Fellowship Bulletin Board within Burkhardt Hall for additional Coffee Hour information.
The Newcomers Wine and Cheese Social in the Memorial Garden is a tradition at The Church of the Epiphany-Tempe. The Social is held in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. We take the summer off since many Newcomers may not have yet adjusted to our dry heat. The Social is our way to greet new members or regular visitors who feel at home at our parish. Just sign our guest book and watch for the next scheduled Social. It’s worth the wait.
Men of Epiphany (MOE)
Every man young, “matured”, or in between is a member. Approximately three times per year, MoE hosts events such as the Annual Fish Fry for Good Friday, a Mother's Day Brunch Coffee Hour, and a barbecue hosted during the Boutique during which they sell lunches to raise money to donate to causes in our church. Such causes include providing funds for a child to go to Chapel Rock Camp in the summer or by purchasing dishes, kitchen equipment, or anything else that might need some financial help. MOE offers not only Fellowship but also a genuine sense of bonding and belonging to our parish.
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) considers every woman in the parish a member, whether they are able to attend the meetings or not. This organization provides opportunities for fellowship and service to women of the parish and responds to community, parish, and Diocesan needs, funded mainly through biannual rummage sales. We are always looking for helpers to sort and price items for the rummage sales. Any and all time that you can give will be appreciated. For questions, please contact the Parish Office.
Chuck Wagon Dinner
For more than 35 years, this annual event has been a tradition at The Church of the Epiphany-Tempe. It takes place in late October and is a catered BBQ dinner served in the church courtyard. The Junior High Sunday School group sells desserts as a fundraiser for their “adopt a family program.” Tickets for the Chuck Wagon Dinner go on sale in late September and pricing is based on the meal ordered.
Annual Golf Outing
This is a nine-hole scramble event held every year. This fun event is for serious golfers and those for whom this is the only time they swing a club during the year. Lunch and prizes follow.
Holly & Ivy Boutique
The Church of the Epiphany’s Holly & Ivy Boutique is one of the largest boutiques in the Phoenix area. Exhibitors and artisans participate in a three day cornucopia of bargains and one-of-a-kind gifts. This is the place to find a special gift for that special someone. Boutique dates are generally the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. Please continue to check this page as well as visit the Calendar on the Home Page and click on those dates for more information on timing and location for the current year’s Boutique.
Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper
To signal the beginning of Lent, The Church of the Epiphany-Tempe hosts a traditional Pancake supper with Hot Cakes and plenty of syrup. Today we celebrate for tomorrow we fast.
Wednesday Lenten Potlucks
There is a meatless Potluck Dinner held in Burkhardt Hall each Wednesday evening starting at 6:00pm during Lent, prior to the Stations of the Cross. Following the Stations of the Cross a discussion or class is offered in Burkhardt Hall
Young Adults Group
The new Epiphany Young Adults Group will meet every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm at a local coffee house. The mission of the group is to strengthen the community of Epiphany young adults through good company, good conversation, and delicious coffee/tea together. Please contact the parish office for more details and contact/sign up information.
Easter Coffee Hour
Parish-Wide Easter Coffee Hour Celebration. Every parishioner is invited to bring a special item to share for coffee hour. Weather permitting, the Easter Coffee Hour is held in the courtyard and the Fellowship Committee provides punch.
