RECTOR SEARCH

Position:  Full-Time Rector

Church of the Epiphany — Tempe is seeking an ordained Episcopal Priest who can be a catalyst for change, an engaging preacher, and teacher, an involved leader, and is financially astute.  The candidate should be committed to assisting the parish with accomplishing the goals established by the Vestry, which are to:

  • Increase our profile in the community as a welcoming place for inspired sacramental worship as well as varied worship experiences, informed conversation, and opportunities to be of service to others.
  • Grow in size and diversity to more fully utilize our facilities and more energetically carry out our mission internally, in our community, and in the world.
  • Increase engagement of Parishioners in Epiphany’s work and raise up inspirational leaders from within to guide us into the future.
  • Enhance our financial stability and operating budget commensurate with the increase in our size, continue to manage our existing indebtedness effectively, and put in place a reasonable financial reserve for major maintenance and capital improvements on our campus.

Church of the Epiphany — Tempe is located in the southeast part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.  Of great importance to us are our beautiful church campus, our wonderful music and choir headed by a professional choir director and organist, and our outreach programs, which support the local community as well as national and international organizations.  Church of the Epiphany – Tempe was a recipient of a City of Tempe Human Relations Commission 16th Annual Diversity Award on January 20, 2014.  In the August 2017 issue of the Phoenix Magazine in its Best of the Valley series, Epiphany’s Memorial Garden was called out as the “Best Place to Find Your Zen!”
